Priority access to both sites. Pompeii's entry and the Vesuvius crater, the latter costed on the listing itself at €11.68 including the reservation fee.
An hour and a half on the mountain. Listed as “Hiking (1.5 hours)” — up and down. What it does not include is a guide, and the listing says why.
Headsets. Included flatly, with no participant threshold attached — unlike most of the walks inside Pompeii, which switch them on at ten, fifteen or sixteen people.

A guide on Vesuvius. “Your guide is not allowed in Vesuvius Park. You will need to climb and descend on your own.” The park's rule, not the operator's choice, and printed plainly.
Food and drink. Nothing on an eight-hour day. Carry water — the crater path has no shade and neither does Pompeii.

The itinerary is the listing's own and carries the usual “for reference only” note, plus a warning that duration varies with traffic, transfer points and party size. The one fixed thing is the rule on the mountain: your guide stays at the gate.
The Clauses That Change Decisions
Nobody guides you on the volcano, and the listing says so. “Your guide is not allowed in Vesuvius Park. You will need to climb and descend on your own. Official park alpine guides are not guaranteed, but you can read the park's information boards or download the park app.” That is the rule at Vesuvius and it applies to every product that goes there. Very few listings print it. Half of this guided day is not guided, by law, and the honest thing is to know that first.

What they buy is a choice of departure time — seven and five slots respectively against one for the shared rows — and privacy on the transfers. They cannot buy a guide on the mountain.
If Vesuvius closes, you are offered Herculaneum. “Access to Mount Vesuvius is subject to favorable weather conditions. If weather conditions change unexpectedly on the day of your tour and access is prohibited, you will be offered a skip-the-line ticket to visit Herculaneum.” That is a real substitute rather than a refund form, and Herculaneum is the better half of a bad weather day anyway.
The pace is stated as a warning, not a boast. “This tour operates at a timely pace to ensure that all items on the itinerary are visited”, and separately: “During peak season Pompeii will be very crowded and there may be a long wait at the main attractions within the site.” The platform's own review summary agrees — travellers say more time in Pompeii would help and the pace can feel rushed.
Pickup is available and hotel pickup is not. The badge at the top of the listing says “Pickup available”; the excludes list says “Hotel pickup and drop-off”. Both are true — you are collected from designated points that vary by option. Check yours when you select the date rather than assuming a car comes to the door.

You will need to climb and descend on your own.” That is the national park's rule and it binds every operator. Official alpine guides work on the crater but the listing says they are not guaranteed. You get the information boards, the park app and the view — which is a great deal of view.
How much time do I get in Pompeii?

Why is the price $132.54 when the page says $106?

Naples or Sorrento — does it matter?
$11.52 and forty-five minutes of your morning. The Sorrento departure leaves at 07:30, the Naples one at 08:15, and everything between them is identical. Book from wherever you are sleeping; the difference is not worth moving a hotel for.
Is the private version worth it?

What happens if the crater is closed?
You are offered a skip-the-line ticket to Herculaneum instead. That is written into the listing rather than left to the day, and it is the best substitution clause we have read on any Vesuvius product. Herculaneum is indoors in a way Pompeii is not, so on a wet day it is arguably the better outcome.
How hard is the climb?
The itinerary allows an hour and a half for up and down. The crater path is loose volcanic cinder at a steady gradient with no shade, and you do it without the tour guide. Proper shoes, water and a hat rather than sandals and optimism. If that sounds like too much, the Vesuvius page compares the products that offer a geologist-led walk instead of the rim.
Is it suitable for wheelchair users?
No. The listing marks it not suitable for wheelchair users or people with mobility impairments, and between a cinder mountain path and two and a half hours on ancient paving there is no part of the day that would work.
